Delete your data
You can delete everything RipClip holds about you, yourself, in a minute. This page is the short version for anyone who connected a Facebook Page, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube or X account, or who signed in with one of them. The full list of what we keep is in the Privacy Policy.
Delete your RipClip account and all your data
- Sign in to RipClip.
- Open Account settings, then Your data, and press Delete my account.
- Type your username or email to confirm.
This happens straight away. It removes your account, videos, clips, projects, posts and plans, and every connected account with the sign-ins we stored for it, including the profile details and statistics we read from TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Threads and X. For TikTok, YouTube and X, RipClip also tells the platform to end that sign-in (revoke the token). Copies in our nightly backups are gone within 30 days. You can first press Download my data in the same place to get a copy.
Disconnect one account and keep the rest
On the Accounts page press Disconnect next to the account. RipClip deletes the stored sign-in and the profile details it read from that account at once, and for TikTok, YouTube and X revokes the access on the platform too. For YouTube it also deletes the view, like and comment counts it read for your posts. Posts you already published stay on the platform.
Take RipClip's access back on the platform
You can also remove RipClip from inside each platform. RipClip then can no longer read or post to that account. Do this too if you cannot sign in to RipClip.
- Facebook and Instagram: Facebook, then Settings, Apps and Websites (for Business Login, "Business Integrations"). Find RipClip and press Remove; tick the box that also deletes the posts and activity RipClip made if you want those gone from Facebook as well. Instagram also lists it under Settings, then Apps and websites.
- Threads: in the Threads app, Settings, Account, Website permissions, then RipClip, then Remove.
- TikTok: in the TikTok app, Settings and privacy, Security and permissions, Apps and services (or Manage app permissions), then RipClip, then Remove.
- YouTube (Google): security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, then RipClip, then Remove access. If you do this, we delete the YouTube data RipClip holds for you within 30 days (and straight away if you also disconnect it on RipClip's Accounts page).
- X: Settings, Security and account access, Apps and sessions, Connected apps, then RipClip, then Revoke app permissions.
- Bluesky: in Bluesky, Settings, Privacy and security, App passwords, then delete the one named RipClip.
Ask us to delete it
If you cannot sign in, or you removed RipClip in Facebook's or another platform's settings and asked it to delete your data, email [email protected] with the subject Delete my data. Write from your account's email address, or tell us the name of the Facebook Page, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube or X account you connected. We delete it within 7 days, answer with a confirmation, and tell you if anything has to be kept and why.
What deleting does not touch
- Your posts on the platforms. Deleting data on RipClip does not delete what was already published on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads or X; delete those posts on the platform (RipClip can also delete a Threads, X or Facebook post you published with it, from the post's page, before you delete your account).
- Payment records we must keep for tax and accounting, held by Stripe.
- One-way abuse-prevention codes that cannot be turned back into your details, so a deleted account cannot claim the free credits twice (see Privacy, section 2).
