RipClip
Credits and sources
RipClip is built on open-source work and a few outside services. This page lists them with their licenses, and it doubles as our audit of third-party code: there are no analytics SDKs in RipClip (usage is recorded in our own database), and the only advertising script, the TikTok Pixel, loads only if you accept Marketing cookies.
Outside services
| Service | Used for | When it's contacted |
|---|---|---|
| Google Identity Services | "Continue with Google" sign-in | Only if you allow it in the cookie banner or click the Google button |
| Meta (Instagram, Facebook), TikTok, X | Publishing posts and reading post statistics | Only for accounts you connect, from our server |
| Email provider (SMTP) | Sending sign-in codes | When you sign up or ask for a new code |
| Resend | Sending the waitlist emails (welcome and launch announcement) | When you join the waitlist at ripclip.org, and once when the launch is announced |
| Kick | Downloading a public Kick clip or video you paste | When you paste a Kick link |
| Apple Podcasts directory (iTunes Lookup) | Finding the file of a podcast episode you paste, which we then download from the podcast's own host | When you paste an Apple Podcasts episode link, from our server |
| Pixabay | Free stock videos for the editor's "Stock library", under the Pixabay Content License; each video is credited to its creator on your Library clip | When you browse or search the Stock library or add a stock video, from our server (preview pictures come through our server too); a video's short hover preview plays from Pixabay's servers in your browser |
| Openverse (Jamendo, Freesound, Wikimedia Commons) | Free songs for the editor's "Music library", only under CC0 or CC BY; a CC BY song is credited to its artist on your Library clip and in your post's caption. RipClip uses Openverse but isn't endorsed or certified by it | When you browse or search the Music library or use a song, from our server; a song's preview plays from the site that hosts it in your browser |
| TikTok Pixel | Measuring our own TikTok ads (page views and sign-up and purchase events) | Only after you accept Marketing cookies in the cookie banner |
| Cloudflare Turnstile (only if switched on) | Checking that a person, not a script, fills in the email sign-up form | When the sign-up form opens |
Nothing else is loaded from other websites: fonts, icons, emoji and scripts are all served by RipClip itself.

- ElevenLabs text to speech: the voices of Text to speech, a service run by ElevenLabs; Kokoro (Apache 2.0) with sherpa-onnx (Apache 2.0) is the backup voice, run locally.

Emoji
The Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, X, YouTube and Bluesky logos on the Accounts page are drawings from Simple Icons (CC0). The logos are trademarks of their owners and are shown only to name the platform you connect.
Emoji images are from Noto Emoji by Google, licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The emoji list follows the Unicode Consortium's emoji data (Unicode License).
On an Apple device (iPhone, iPad or Mac) the editor shows that device's own emoji instead, drawn by the device's emoji font. A picture of an emoji you add there is saved to your account as your own image and used only in your projects. RipClip does not include or serve Apple's emoji.
Made by RipClip
The Shapes and Badges sticker pack and all sound effects are made in-house for RipClip. The RipClip and Riptide names, logo and interface are ours.
